Each day we wake up to more news about the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19. It's causing stress in our lives and consequently causing concern throughout the world about transmission. With recent confirmed cases in Santa Rosa County, the concern is even higher, and is causing us to consider what we might do to mitigate the risk of spreading germs to limit our exposure to this infectious disease.
Passing the Peace: We will continue to greet one another with words of peace, but ask that we each refrain from handshakes or hugs. Fist bumps, waves, peace-signs, are great, or get creative! While this will be an adjustment for such a loving congregation, for the sake of each person's well-being, let's give it a try for now.
Other Changes to our Routine:
If you are sick, please stay home.
Use hand sanitizer or wash hands thoroughly. Due to the great demand we don’t yet have as much hand sanitizer as we’ve ordered. While we have some hand sanitizer at church, feel free to bring some for you and your family to use before communion.
While times like these can bring uneasiness, we hope we will continue to come together each week and share God love and love for each other in our worship and fellowship. As we learn more about the virus and its unavoidable spread, we may make other adjustments, yet feel these will be enough for now. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to call or e-mail me and I will do my best to address them.
God's Peace be with each of you,
The Rev. Susan R. Sowers
Rector, St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church
