The Reverend Jessica Babcock, Associate Rector

Jessica BabcockMother Jessica, our Associate Rector, graduated from The University of the South with her Masters in Divinity Degree in May of 2013 and was ordained to the priesthood here at St. Christopher’s in Pensacola in June of 2013.

Prior to attending seminary Jessica and her family were members of St. Mark’s in Jacksonville, Florida. After many years of funding her church-volunteer habit through real estate sales and training, Jessica perceived a call to ordained ministry while on a mission trip to St. Mark’s companion church in Itabo, Cuba.  After serving in her parish as a Verger, Mission Chair, Lay Eucharistic Minister, Hospital Visitor, and a ‘Happening’ adult sponsor, Jessica entered the process for ordination in 2007. Prior to moving to Jacksonville she worked as a corporate trainer and instructional designer for fifteen years.

Jessica also holds a B.A. in English from The Centre College of Kentucky (1988) and a M.S. in Education from Georgia State University (1995). She is an Alabama native, born and raised in Anniston, AL and Grace Episcopal Church.

She and her husband, Dwight, met while serving in the Peace Corps in the Republic of the Marshall Islands in the North Pacific. They have been married for just over 20 years and have two daughters, Emory (16) and Adelaide (14) who attend The Catholic High School of Pensacola.

The Reverend Doctor Michael Moore, Assisting

Rev Moore

The Reverend Dr. Michael Moore came to St. Christopher’s in 2005. Father Mike assists principally in the area of pastoral care. Mike was ordained to the diaconate in 1975 and the priesthood in 1976 and has served many churches as a non-stipendiary (tent maker) priest, generously offering his gifts to many churches that otherwise would not have the services of a priest. Mike has a PhD in Physics from Rice University and has long served as a nuclear physicist at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico where he still continues to offer his expertise. Mike is married to Joan Moore and is the proud father of four children and seven grandchildren.
