
The Reverend Eric Long, Rector

The Reverend Eric Long came to St. Christopher's in May 2007. Prior to coming to St. Christopher's, Father Long was the founding pastor of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Missouri. Eric was ordained to the diaconate in June 1999, to the priesthood in January 2000 and is an alumnus of Memphis State University (BA - Finance, '93), The Nazarene Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity, '96) and The School of Theology at The University of the South (Anglican Studies, '99).
Eric's gifts lie in the areas of passionate preaching, engaging teaching, church growth and lay ministry development. An absolute priority of Eric's ministry is to demonstrate the relevance of the message of Christ for today. He believes the fact that God came amongst us in the person of Jesus Christ means that our faith must intersect with all of life.
Eric is married to Special Education/Remedial Reading Teacher, Shelley Henderson-Long and is the father of two wonderful girls, Abigail and Madalene.
The Reverend Doctor Michael Moore, Assisting

The Reverend Dr. Michael Moore came to St. Christopher’s in 2005. Father Mike assists principally in the area of pastoral care. Mike was ordained to the diaconate in 1975 and the priesthood in 1976 and has served many churches as a non-stipendiary (tent maker) priest, generously offering his gifts to many churches that otherwise would not have the services of a priest.
Mike has a PhD in Physics from Rice University and has long served as a nuclear physicist at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico where he still continues to offer his expertise.
Mike is married to Joan Moore and is the proud father of four children and seven grandchildren.
